Saige is 9 years old and a student at Lake Street Elementary School in Crown Point, IN. She recently competed in the 12th annual Hoosier STAR vocal competition where she was named runner up in the youth division. She was so excited to have been given the opportunity to be part of such an amazing event! Music is a huge part of Saige’s life and she would love to become an opera singer one day. Recently she has moved one step closer to her dream as she is now being classically trained by Miss Brenda Roberts (professional opera singer, vocal pedagog). In her free time, you will find Saige listening to music, writing songs, playing on her keyboard and attending dance classes at Origins Dance Academy. She also enjoys challenging herself by memorizing songs and currently can sing in four different language. She is thrilled and honored to be performing again with the La Porte County Symphony Orchestra!
Thomas Coe is the choral director at LaPorte High School. He holds degrees from Indiana University and Ball State University and has been a music teacher since 1994. Mr. Coe taught elementary, middle school and high school in the Valparaiso, Duneland and Penn Harris Madison school corporations before coming to LaPorte in 1999. He has been a member of the South Bend Chamber Singers, South Shore Choral Artists and Camerata Singers. Mr. Coe directs five of the six choral ensembles at LPHS including the Beginning and Intermediate Women’s Choruses, Treble Chorale, Mixed Chorale and the Show Choir. Under his direction, the advanced choirs have been State Finalists numerous times and have appeared in four performances at Carnegie Hall. Mr. Coe played Harold Hill in their production of “The Music Man” in 2006 and is thrilled to return to the “Holiday at the Pops” with the fine musicians of the LCSO again tonight. He lives in La Porte with his wife, Robin.
Neary is a singer-songwriter from the Chicagoland area. His blues-inspired vocals and soaring falsetto serve as perfect complements to his close-tothe- chest songwriting. Since releasing his first full-length album, 2013, James has gone on to open for the likes of Katie Todd, Andrew Salgado and Matt Schofield. He has even performed on stage alongside Muse. In 2016, James took home the adult First place prize at Hoosier STAR and has since formed his touring band, James Neary and the Bevy Blue.
Kaden Slay is a giant voice with an even greater heart. His life’s desire is to truly know Jesus, share the gospel, teach the Word, and ultimately bring the church closer to the Father through music. Born and raised in Mississippi, Kaden grew up the son of a pastor. From a very young age he took an interest in music, and began leading worship in his father’s church at the age of 13. He is currently a missionary at the headquarters of
